Aerospace Business Integration (ABI) - Executive Education:
A professional development programme designed for the future leaders of the aerospace industry.
The ECATA ABI course spans during 11 weeks off-the-job training, delivered across ECATA universities in different countries.
The course is structured into three intensive residential periods throughout the year, with two week intervals during which participants return to their home organisations.
Delegates attend lectures on the International Aerospace Environment, System Integration & Technologies and Multinational Programme Management (MTP). They also take part in an intercultural seminar and a team-building seminar. During this period, they begin working on their Multinational Team Project by exploring the assigned subject.
The programme continues with further lectures on the same topics, complemented by a seminar on Leadership Development and personalised coaching. Delegates also advance their work on the MTP.
Over three weeks, participants focus on finalising their MTP. At the end of this phase, they deliver their technical report to the customer team and present their results to a wider audience during the final public presentation.
Lectures
Delivered by experts from industry, agencies, airlines, the European Commission, and academia, the lectures are spread across Periods 1 and 2 of the programme.
They focus on three main areas:
- International Aerospace Environment
- Systems, technologies and production
- Multinational Program Management
The MTP offers participants a realistic yet risk-free environment to apply project management, teamwork and leadership skills in a multicultural and multi-company setting. Facing challenges such as diverse nationalities, different organisational practices, strict milestones, and customer expectations, delegates gain hands-on experience that closely mirrors professional reality (different nationalities and working practices, milestones, customer pressure, etc,.).
The seminars support one of the programme's core objectives: developing the ability to work effectively in multinational teams - a critical asset for the success of international aerospace programmes.
Key topics include:
- Team Building
- Cultural differences
- Leadership
This course is designed for young managers with 5 to 15 years of professional experience who are on track to become leaders in European and international aerospace programmes.
The programme focuses on programme management in a multicultural environment. Its cornerstone of the course is a Multinational Team Project (MTP), addressing a business-relevant challenge defined each year by the ECATA consortium.
Lectures and workshops are delivered by professionals from industry, agencies, airlines, the European Commission, and academia.
Seminars and coaching are led by certified coaches, focusing on leadership and intercultural teamwork.
